APS Dynamics ELECTRO-SEIS® Long Stroke Shakers

The ELECTRO-SEIS® is a force generator specifically designed to be used alone or in arrays for studying dynamic response characteristics of structures such as automobiles, aircraft, bridges, floors, missiles, piping systems, spacecraft, towers, etc.

Calibration Setup w/ Calibration Mass

The APS Dynamics ELECTRO-SEIS® long stroke shaker is shown attached to a 36 lbf calibration mass.

The setup is used for the calibration of load cells.  Using Newton's second law (F=M*A), both the sensitivity and frequency response of the load cell can be determined.

Typical Applications

  • Modal Testing - Excitation source used for the determination of a structure's damped natural frequencies, damping factors and mode shapes.
  • Compliance & Fragility Testing - Used in dynamics laboratories to determine compliance with various commercial and military specifications.
  • Seismic Testing - Low frequency excitation source to assess survivability and performance during simulated seismic events.
  • Transducer Calibration - Used both in laboratory and field environments for the amplitude and frequency calibration of vibration sensors.
  • Structural Transmission Testing - Field and laboratory excitation source used for the determination of structureborne noise paths, transmissibility's and stress. distributions

  • Model 400 - Two-Man Portability - less than 160 lb. total weight
