SoundPLAN Expert System: Cost efficient Noise Control Design requires Information on the Noise Contribution and Frequency Content. The Expert System is one of the most important Tools for Navcon Engineers to develop Noise Control Plans.
The figure above shows: Top left Window: Name of three Receiver Locations, Contributions w/o & w/ Mitigation Measures, Limit & Overall Noise Reduction Top right Window: Sound Level Contribution of Sources (i.e., Ranked by their Intensity w/o & w/ Mitigation Measures) Center left Window: Graphic Presentation of Geometry. The active receiver is marked with green marker and the active source with a red marker. Center Window: Table with Noise Control Measures used for Optimization Process. Noise Control Measures are defined as Overall Reductions (i.e., TL, IL, DIL) or Spectral Information (i.e., Mitigation Library). The user enters for each Noise Control Measure a cost factor. Center right Window: Graphic Presentation of the Spectral Information for the Active Receiver (i.e., Overall Spectral Contribution, Source Sound Power Spectra, Source Contribution Spectra) Bottom Left Window: Cumulative Sound Pressure Level Histogram for the Active Receiver. Red line is representing scenario w/o Noise Control Measures & Green line representing w/ Noise Control Measures Bottom Right Window: Graphic presentation of the Cost to Attenuation trend for all receivers.
